Last night, I was reminded of a quote from the Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis, a book series I highly recommend for people of all ages! The quote was from chapter 8 of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe when Beaver is telling Lucy and the others about Aslan. Lucy asks, "Is he—quite safe?" [...] "Safe?" said Mr. Beaver [...] "Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you."
Have you ever asked that or thought that about God? Is He safe? I think I concur with C.S. Lewis; God is not safe, but He is good. It’s easy to forget that God is not safe, but He is most definitely good. Food for thought on this Wake-up Wednesday.

Last night, I watched the movie 42. I’m a big baseball fan and had been looking forward to seeing this movie for quite a while. It is based on the true story of the first African American to play for Major League Baseball back in 1946-7.
I enjoyed the movie and the story behind it. I also enjoyed the reminder that sometimes it takes the stubborn vision of a few to bring about transformation for many. May we stubbornly and lovingly hold to the gracious truths we see in Scripture and live our lives as an example of the transformation that it can bring to ourselves and to others.
