I saw an advertisement the other day that bothered me. It said something like "less time in the kitchen = more family time." I don't know that those two things are mutually exclusive. It's about food and family, not food or family - in the prep, the eating, the cleaning up... all of it.
Some of my best memories are in the kitchen with my mom, my sisters, my Grandma, and with my church family. Relationships center around food and the fellowship that comes with it.
So, on this holiday weekend, see how you can incorporate family time into the food time - not just what you're eating, but what you're working on and sharing together.
