Ted Hackney served as the charitable estate planning director for Harding University for 13 years, growing endowment revenue by 75% and raising donations for the annual fund through qualified charitable disbursements. Ted directed all aspects of charitable estate planning including working with donors on estate and complex gifts to increase the university’s endowment, developing and implementing departmental marketing strategies, and providing charitable gift analysis for the university’s fundraising department. Before working at Harding, he practiced corporations and securities law in Denver, Colorado, for more than 10 years, then moved to Arkansas with his family in 1993 to set up the trust office of a national bank.

Ted has a law degree and MBA from the University of Denver and a political science/history degree from Harding University. Ted also has a certificate in Mediation from Missouri State University.

Ted grew up in Vancouver, BC, Canada, where his family did vocational missionary work. He has been a shepherd at two churches and has been an advocate of missionaries, mission work, and church planting everywhere he has lived. Ted has been a worship leader, Bible class teacher, house church leader, and has been involved in numerous mission trips, domestic and abroad.

Ted has been involved in a wide range of community service organizations in Arkansas, and has taught online MBA classes for Harding University, and American Institute of Banking classes at Arkansas State University.
