Katie Forbess has a heart for encouraging women to grow in Christ through authentic relationships, prayer, and the sharpening of one another's faith. As President of the Board and a Speaker Ambassador for Iron Rose Sister Ministries, she loves the ministry's commitment to helping women grow together and become more like Christ. She especially enjoys speaking about prayer, the Holy Spirit, and grace. Philippians 1:21 is one of her favorite Scriptures, and Romans 15:4 is especially meaningful as she encourages others to find hope through God's Word, perseverance, and the encouragement of fellow believers. She describes IRSM as "the heartbeat of the gospel" and is grateful for the opportunity to use her gifts while continuing to grow alongside other women.
Originally from Texas, Katie graduated from Harding University in 2000, and later served as a missionary alongside her husband, Jeffery, in Cochabamba, Bolivia. She has been involved with IRSM since before it officially began. Now living in Chillicothe, Missouri, Katie and Jeffery have been married for 26 years and have three children. They serve together at the Chillicothe Church of Christ, and Katie also leads GriefShare. She works at a microschool and loves finding ways to encourage those around her by loving them well. Outside of ministry, Katie enjoys traveling and, despite her best efforts, occasionally trying to keep her plants alive!
