I have known my best friend Ruth since we were 4 years old. We have always kept close, in spite of the distance between cities or even countries. We have always looked for a way to be in touch with each other and to support each other as well, whether through a video call or through prayer.
After being out of my country, Honduras, for a year, I went back for a one-week vacation to visit family and friends.

During that week, I went to the city were my friend Ruth lives to pay her a visit. For lunch she made spaghetti, prepared my favorite way, and after that rested for a moment. While we were both lying on her bed talking, a lot of childhood memories came to my mind, memories that filled my soul with joy (moments of fights, reconciliations, secrets, joys, sorrows and much more) and for just a moment it was as if time had not passed by and we were those two little girls that we once were 20 years ago.
With the passing of time, our lives have changed and taken different paths, but despite that, our friendship has grown and strengthened.

Proverbs 17:17 says: “A friend loves at all times. A brother is born to share troubles.”
Both of us can say that, more than friends, we are sisters joined by a Heavenly Father.

I invite you to give thanks with me to our Heavenly Father for a friend that has been of great blessing and spiritual growth in our lives—that sister that has been like iron sharpening iron in our lives.
